For the past 28 years, Operation Smile’s medical missions have treated more than 145,000 patients throughout the Philippines and around the world. Kay and I are honored to help raise funds to support this trip and aid in the facilitation of this mission under the personal guidance of Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee, the Co-founders of Operation Smile.

My family and I are fortunate to have a unique place in the early history of this worthwhile organization. When Operation Smile was founded in 1982, my wife Kay and I, along with a handful of concerned American/Filipino residents of Hampton Roads became its first volunteers. Many of us continue to be involved in Operation Smile today as they have expanded from only sending trips to the Philippines, to treating patients in over 50 countries and the United States.<!–more–>

An assessment trip was completed this past March and Operation Smile has confirmed that the mission will take place at Don Amadeo Jr. Memorial Hospital in February 2011. Your support of this mission and of Operation Smile in the Philippines will ensure that hundreds of children will receive the best surgical care possible. In as little as 45 minutes, a surgery can be completed, bringing a child from hopelessness to a life with dignity. Your gift of $240 will give the simple gift of a smile to a child in our home country.

Thank you for considering a donation towards this project and helping to change the lives of children. Please send your check made payable to “Operation Smile” noting “Project Pozorrubio 2011” in the memo line. Donations can be mailed to Operation Smile Inc., Attention Bonnie Keuhne, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Virginia 23509

Together, we encourage you to share this site ( http://www.operationsmile.org/pasag ) with others.
