US search for hometown beauty reaps two bets!

“WE were able to find, not just one, but two candidates from the Balikbayan Community for Ms Pozorrubio Town Fiesta 2009! The two ladies,  Mrs. Vivien Ritualo-Marquez of California and Mrs. Noemi Banda-Laguit of Hawaii, had already given us a definite confirmation of their participation.”
       In her speech this Monday September 15 during the Flag-raising ceremony, on her first working day after her US trip,  Mayor Emma T. Chan gave this good news to the municipal personnel present, including the Sangguniang Bayan, the Barangay Captains, the PNP and other national agencies. 
       The Mayora said: “the Pozorrubians in Hawaii and California are very aware and are always kept updated with local events and whatever developmental changes we are doing here. They are very appreciative of all our efforts. And maybe that is why we have two very willing candidates for Ms Town Fiesta to help us realize the fulfillment of the rest of our plans for this town.”
       She also said that the annual search for the Singing Star Discovery will be revived as a joint effort by one of its founders Bert Orinion and Engineer Eddie Laguit together with the Pozorrubio LGU. The Liga ng mga Barangay Basketball Competition sponsored by the Pozorrubio LGU will also have for co-sponsors the Pozorrubians and their friends from Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, California. 
       According to the Mayora, the proceeds of the 2009 Ms Pozorrubio Town Fiesta will fund the initial construction of the 4th and last composite building to house the municipal offices of the national agencies. It is to be noted that the previous municipal buildings were built debt-free. These were all sourced from the combined municipal savings, the congressional funds of  5th District Representative Mark O. Cojuangco, and the annual search for Ms Pozorrubio Town Fiesta.
       And for all these efforts to succeed and make their mark,  the Mayora airs the appeal for the citizens of Pozorrubio, the local residents or those presently residing in the US and other countries, to support the candidates for the 2009 Ms Pozorrubio Town Fiesta.
