Local Farmers Receive Fertilizer Subsidy

Pozorrubio is 70% farming community. To assist these farmers is to come to the aid of the majority of Pozorrubians.  It is in this spirit that the Fertilizer Subsidy Program was launched July 14, 2008 to last through the wet seasons ending 2010.   
Target beneficiaries are all farmers and all farm areas. Since July 14, the program provided a farmer tilling a one (1) hectare farm to cover a maximum purchase of three (3) sacks of fertilizer – two (2) discount coupons worth P250 each courtesy of the national government and the Department of Agriculture’s Ginintuang Masaganang Ani (GMA), and the municipal counterpart of one (1) discount coupon worth P150.
On July 29, the national government and the Department of Agriculture decided to add two (2) more discount coupons worth P250 each thus increasing the national subsidy to twice its original amount. The farmer’s maximum purchase covered by the said discount is also increased to four (4) sacks. 
In totality, a legitimate farmer tilling a 1-hectare farm can now avail of the counterparting efforts of the national and local agencies of five (5) coupons with a total worth of P1150. The office of the Municipal Agriculturist Mr. Jose Sibuma at the 2nd Floor of the Executive Building is open anytime during the working week for those who would like to avail of this program.
